- This series of lessons is designed to build towards MS-ESS2-4 Develop a model to describe the cycling of water through Earth's systems driven by energy from the sun and the force of gravity.
- Blog post by NASA oceanographer Eric Lindstrom, giving an oceanographer's perspective on the water cycle (oceans provide 86 percent of global evaporation and receive 78 percent of all rainfall).
- Sea surface salinity from Sept. 2011-2014 is shown on a spinning globe. Interesting fingerprints of the water cycle can be seen -- fresh water flowing from Amazon river into the Atlantic, Low salinity over part of the Indian ocean (monsoon - heavy precipitation), high salinity at the equator (evaporation)
