This is an activity about cratering. Learners will simluate planetary impact craters on a small scale in the classroom. Relationships between mass and velocity (kinetic energy) of the impactor and crater size are explored, both qualitatively and quantitatively. This activity is part of "Ways of Seeing," an interactive, educational CD-ROM from NASA's Cassini Program. The Cassini spacecraft is the first to explore the Saturn system of rings and moons from orbit.
